I’m not very good with cameras, but here are some photos taken during the WordPress Community Summit, held in Tybee Island, GA earlier this month.
Galleries on self-hosted WordPress blogs have just become more awesome. The latest update to Jetpack brings the Carousel — a full-screen experience for your image galleries.
I absolutely love how the carousel works with already existing galleries, doesn’t need its own shortcode or anything, and integrates well into the existing Settings – Media section. By the way, these photos are from my trip to Playa del Carmen and Tulum in Mexico earlier this year.
Hey there! Hope you all had a good rest and a fab time during your holidays. As you might have guessed, I did. I celebrated New Year in Italy! It was a 7-day stay at Rimini, from where we travelled to Venice, Florence and Rome. The New Year party was awesome, although the rain has probably ruined it for some of us. The good news is that we didn’t catch a cold ;)
We ate a lot of pizza and pasta, those were terrific, so I must have gained a few kilos (finally). Below are a few shots taken in Venice and Rome:
Not much photos eh? Well, our camera broke in Florence, so we weren’t able to take any pictures there, but then again, there’s not much to see ;) So, the holidays are over and we’re all back to work. Must be tough for some people, but not me. I’ve recently switched to a new place (still in Moscow), major startup where I’ll be doing even more web development than I used to at the old place, so this year we’ll cover more cloud computing topics, website design techniques and SEO goodies ;) and of course WordPress.
The huge plans for this year involve multi-instance Amazon Web Services (clustering and load balancing), perhaps a few shots at Amazon SimpleDB and of course the almost finished WordPress plugin for Twitter control that I planned back in November last year.
So, good luck to everyone and have a productive 2010!
Okay, these are kind of old from an exhibition in Moscow in like December 2008. Previously hosted by Flickr, and today I decided to have duplicates here, ’cause Flickr will not display more than 200 photos from my photostream, so here’s probably a safer place (unless my hosting provider messes up). This is an android robot, similar to Honda ASIMO. It’s called i-Van and the model name’s AR-600. It’s still being developed by Android Robotics Corp. in Russia, so I’ll get back to you with the improvements in a couple of months.
Sorry for the quality, I hadn’t had a camera back then so I caught those on my Nokia cellphone. It was fun though, our Russian president Dmitry Medvedev shook hands with the android, and then the newspapers here posted out some good photos of them both, stating that Dmitry’s standing on the right, in case somebody got confused LOL. BTW that’s me in the orange shirt. It was almost midnight and we had a bunch of technical problems, that’s why I looked so sad.
P.S. I’m on 12seconds.tv, follow me!
