About Konstantin
Hi! My name is Konstantin Kovshenin (screen name: kovshenin). I am a web developer and WordPress fan from Moscow, Russia. I’m in the web industry for over 6 years now and I do PHP, MySQL, Python, App Engine, Django and of course WordPress.
I’ve also got some good experience in software development using C++, C#, .NET Platform and Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio. I can also work with robot controllers from Hi-tec, Kondo, Robovie, Robotis and others, been my job and hobby for quite some time.
This blog is mainly about tech stuff, like code snippets, links, videos and quotes, short tutorials, tips and tricks and more. If you’d like to say anything, visit the feedback page.
Summary
From my Linked In profile
I’m an experienced Web Application Developer and in the web business for over 5 years. I specialize on application prototyping, coding & development, usability, scalability and network administration as well as bug tracking, teamwork and collaboration.
I love public APIs and currently specialize in the following: Twitter, Flickr, Google Maps, Bit.ly, Delicious and I can’t wait to get my hands on Google Wave API.
In June 2009 I’ve released a Twitter app called Foller.me (www.foller.me) which is a mashup of the Twitter API and Google Maps.
In the early 2009 I started the development of numerous opensource plugins for WordPress, including Twitter Friendly Links, Quick Flickr Widget and more. I still support and update the released plugins as well as come up with new ones from time to time.
I also specialize in the Amazon Web Services (EC2, EBS, S3, MapReduce, etc), worked with scalable code and database structure. Server & databse performance tuning (therefore experienced in Linux administration, generally Fedora or Fedora Core).
In late 2008 I developed websites based on WordPress. From simple one-page RSS feeds to complex corporate websites, e-commerce points and social networking resources. Yes, all this is possible with WordPress. I believe that any website could (and perhaps should) be WordPress-driven. I drive the experimental version 2.9 on my blog while the rest of the world just switched to 2.8.
From 2007-2008 worked freelance and developed fairly simple websites using PHP and a couple of PHP frameworks, together with MySQL. Worked full-time at Android Robotics Corporation, specializing in .NET development including C# and Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio.
During 2006 worked part-time while studying. Basic PHP and MySQL development, as well as graphics and web design. Studied C++, OpenGL, DirectX and the basics of Game Development.
In 2004-2005 worked for a couple of small clients. Used ASP and Microsoft SQL Server.
